Rosalina D. C. lives in the village of Campo 4, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur. She is 22 years old, married and has one child, an infant. For the last seven years, she has made a living by growing rice and earns about 10,000 PHP a month from her work.
In 2009, Rosalina joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her life and ability to engage in business. She has successfully repaid five previous loans from GDMPC and is applying for a new one, for 50,000 PHP, to buy fertilizer for her farm. She plans to use the additional revenue generated by this loan to improve her family's living conditions.
GDMPC is one of the most progressive cooperatives in Mindanao, Philippines. It has seven branches covering the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental. Its membership is composed mostly of farmers, fishermen and women and small entrepreneurs.
