Rebie S. is from the village of Matugas Alto, Jimenez, Misamis Occidental. She is 34 years old. Rebie is married and has three school-aged children.

To make a living, Rebie owns and operates a tricycle transport service. (A tricycle is a motorcycle with a passenger cab.) Rebie has been engaged in her business for over 10 years and earns approximately 3,000 PHP a month for these activities.

In 2006, Rebie joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her business and living situation. Rebie has successfully repaid a previous loan of 7,000 PHP from GDMPC. This previous loan was used as additional capital for her business.

Rebie is requesting a new loan of 5,000 PHP, which will be used to purchase tires and other accessories. This will be the third loan taken out by Rebie from GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the loan to improve and expand her business.

GDMPC is one of the most progressive cooperatives in Mindanao, Philippines. It has seven branches covering the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental. Its membership is composed mostly of farmers, fisherfolk and small entrepreneurs.
