A loan of $450 helped to buy sodas, beer and drinking glasses.

Shirley Damaris's story

Mrs. Shirley is a member of the communal bank Las Dalilas in the district of Calleria, department of Ucayali. She is 30 years old, married and has two minor children.

She also has been working with loans from Manuela Ramos for two years. In this time she has bought a refrigerator in order to sell cold beverages.

With the new loan in the amount of 1,200 PEN she will buy jugs of soda, 10 crates of beer, 200 drinking glasses, a package of sorbet and 100 bags.

She sells the drinks from her home where she has adapted a space to be able to attend to customers. Many of them buy items to take home. With her business she is able to help with household expenses. Her husband does the same thing and they decide which household expenses are priority in order to distribute payment correctly.
