The Kiva borrower is a 43-year-old Lebanese married man. He is living with his wife and four young children who are still attending school. He has 23 years of experience working in the car mechanic field and has owned a small shop for 18 years. His work is specialized in selling car radiators and repairing the damaged ones. He has a part-time employee helping him do the work. Today, he is requesting to borrow $1000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to increase his shop’s inventory in order to enhance his sales and earn higher profits. He is looking to diversify his business and open a new shop where he can buy and sell spare car parts. His income is needed to help support his wife and four children.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
