Ivonne
Ivonne is a member of the "Hijuela Grande" communal bank in the city of Viña del Mar.

She has had a bakery located in the front yard of her home for 6 years. She makes and sells bread, pizza dough and empanadas. She does this work on the weekends. During the week she works as a real estate agent and her father runs the bakery. Her business has been successful, allowing her to improve her business over time and lower her cooking expenses, by building a clay oven. Ivonne works with her father, who learned the trade from his parents. Ivonne also learned it from hers. She has many customers who often request her services. She also sells in fairs and receives orders for events and schools. She purchases her ingredients from suppliers in la Vega, such as olives, cheese, and onions. She also purchases paper and plastic bags.

With this loan she will purchase supplies for her business such as 3 100-kilo bags of flour, 10 kilos of margarine, and condiments. Her goals are to purchase an automatic dough roller and to have an established business that has the required licenses and health permits for her bakery. She would also like to open a shop to sell fruit and vegetables.

Ivonne lives with her husband and their two daughters, ages 23 and 21. She wants to pay for her daughters' college educations. She is very happy and thankful to Fondo Esperanza, as they have giver her to opportunity to invest in her business and grow. Ivonne has a very good relationship with the members of the group. She has been able to use everything she has learned about sales from the courses offered by the group into her business.

Viña del Mar is a city located in the central coast of Chile. It is known as Ciudad Jardin (Garden City) due to the gardens and patios found in some of the old homes in the city. It is also the tourism capital of Chile.

Ivonne forma parte del banco comunal “Hijuela Grande” perteneciente a la ciudad de Viña del Mar.
Ella tiene una amasandería ubicada en el ante jardín de su casa, desde hace 6 años. Ahí se dedica a la producción y venta de pan, masa de pizza y empanadas. Trabaja en éste rubro los fines de semana, ya que durante la semana trabaja como asesora del hogar y es su padre quien se encarga del negocio de amasandería en éste tiempo. Su negocio ha ido prosperando en el transcurso del tiempo lo que ha permitido agilizar y tener menos gastos en la cocción de sus productos, ya que fabricó un horno de barro. Ivonne trabaja en compañía de su padre, quien heredó el oficio de sus padres e Ivonne también lo heredó del suyo. Además cuenta con mucha clientela que con frecuencia demandan de sus servicios, puesto que también vende en la feria, en su casa y tiene pedidos para eventos y colegios.
Su mercadería la compra a proveedores y en la Vega, específicamente aceitunas, queso y cebollas. Además de cartuchos de papel y bolsas de plástico.
Con el préstamo comprará mercadería para abastecer su negocio específicamente 3 quintales de harina, 10 kilos de margarina y condimentos.
Sus metas son comprarse una sobadora eléctrica, además se proyecta con un negocio establecido que cuente con el permiso y patente correspondiente de salubridad para su amasandería. Además le gustaría abrir un local para vender frutas y verduras.
Ivonne vive junto a su esposo y sus dos hijas de 23 y 21 años de edad. Sus motivaciones son costear los estudios superiores de sus hijas.
Ella está muy contenta y agradecida de Fondo Esperanza, ya que le ha dado la oportunidad de invertir y surgir en su negocio. Ivonne tiene una muy buena relación con las socias del grupo. Respecto a los cursos impartidos ha podido integrar todos los aprendizajes de ventas a su negocio.
Viña del Mar es una ciudad y comuna ubicada en el litoral central de Chile, conocida como la Ciudad Jardín debido a los jardines y patios que poseen algunas viviendas antiguas de la ciudad. También es considerada la capital turística de Chile.

About Fondo Esperanza

Fondo Esperanza (FE) is a private non-profit organization that supports entrepreneurship by providing micro-credit and training to people living in poverty in well over 100 cities throughout Chile. By providing these services, FE aims to improve the living conditions of the entrepreneurs and their families. In 2010, FE provided loans to more than 41,000 entrepreneurs. It utilizes a communal banking model in which groups of 18 to 25 clients meet on regularly and guarantee each other’s loans. The members use their portion of the loan to create or expand their own businesses. In the group meetings, clients receive training though the FE Entrepreneurship School, which enhances clients’ personal and business skills and ability to work in groups.
