Ms. Vazifa is a 44-year-old woman. She is single and lives with her family in Saatli, situated in the central part of Azerbaijan. She started her business in 1990 when she purchased one cow with money she had saved up. The work is hard but interesting and takes a lot of effort. Vazifa purchases calves, breeds them, and sells them to the butcher, who works at the local big market. At the same time, the income is not enough to cover all of Vazifa’s family expenses. To increase her profit margin, Vazifa has to invest some money to make her small herd bigger. This summer, she applied for $800 to buy four calves. She hopes to expand her business eventually.
