Rosa is a dedicated businesswoman, borrower and mother of two who makes her living selling ice cream and other homemade sweets from a push cart. She loves her job because it allows her to walk around outside all day, exploring her neighborhood and getting exercise. Prior to receiving her first loan two years ago, Rosa worked handing out fliers at the supermarket, a job that didn’t provide her any opportunity for advancement. Rosa has always excelled in math and when she was younger she dreamed of becoming an accountant, but didn’t have enough money to invest in the necessary schooling. Now, she enjoys applying the analytic skills of her ice cream business - growing her customer base and increasing her profits year after year.

Rosa is seeking a fourth Grameen America loan of $3,000 to purchase new equipment for her cart and additional food to sell. When she isn’t working, Rosa spends her evenings cooking dinner for her family and encouraging her children to follow their dreams.
