Serop K. lives in the village of Skhvilisi in the Akhaltsikhe district. Serop is 56 years old. He is married and lives with his wife Alina.
Serop and Alina are farmers and farming is the only source of income for them. They own 1.75 hectare of agricultural land. The biggest part (1 hectare) of this land they use to grow potatoes and the rest is used to grow cabbage and onions. The land is very fertile in this part of the country, so they always get a good harvest. The vegetables are sold in September locally to the vegetable wholesalers.
With the requested loan, Serop plans to purchase potatoes for seeding as well as fertilizers. He hopes that this season will be favorable for their farm. After he sells the harvest, he plans to purchase a small truck, which will be used for transporting the vegetables. When he has his own transportation, he will take the harvested vegetables to the capital city and sell them for a much higher price. It will significantly increase the income of the family and they will be able to improve their living conditions.
