Dimitri T. comes from the village of Aradeti, Kareli District. He is 57 years old, married and lives with his wife Lena and mother. Dimitri and Lena earn a living with agricultural activities. They have a milk cow and two calves. Lena makes cheese and sells it in Kareli. In addition, they have plot of land where a variety of fruits and vegetables are grown. The total average monthly income of the family is 1,100 Laris.
Dimitri requested credit, as he needed cash for cultivating his plot. He plans to buy fuel for his tractor (for tilling) and fertilizers. He plans to sow potatoes, onions and tomatoes. He hopes that fertilizing will result in an increased volume of harvested vegetables and fruits and that the family’s income will increase. One part of the profit will be reinvested and the other part will be used for satisfying family needs.
