The Nuevas Amigas (New Friends) community bank has nine members (one man and eight women). They all work in different businesses which allow them to contribute financially to their households. They live in different parishes and sectors of the city of Cuenca. This is a cold-climate city which has beautiful natural landscapes to visit. It is the third most important city in the country and was named a World Heritage Site in 1999. Its people are all very kind and friendly.

Diana C. is receiving her first loan through the community bank. She was invited to join by a friend who is an active member of the bank.

Diana is 19 years old and single. She lives in her grandparents' home and helps them out financially. She studied for two years in a sewing academy and she has been carrying out her profession for one year. She works from Monday to Friday, from 8.00am to 6.00pm, in a factory where they make jeans.

Diana will use her loan to buy food for her household. Her goal is to own a dressmaking workshop so that she can make her own products.

Viven por diferentes parroquias y sectores de la ciudad de Cuenca, esta ciudad es de clima frió, tiene hermosos paisajes naturales para visitar, es la tercera ciudad de mas importante del país y fue nombrada en 1999 como patrimonio cultural de la humanidad, toda su gente es muy amable y cordial.

La Señorita. Diana C. se encuentra en el primer crédito que realiza en el banco comunal al cual fue invitada por una amiga quien es socia activa del banco.

Nuestra socia tiene 19 años de edad, es soltera y vive en la casa de sus abuelitos a quienes les ayuda económicamente.

La Señorita. Diana estudio 2 años en una academia de costura y está ejerciendo su profesión hace un año, ella trabaja de lunes a viernes de 8 de la mañana hasta las 6 de la tarde en una fábrica que confeccionan jeans.

Su crédito lo va a invertir en la compra de víveres para su hogar.

Su meta es tener un taller de confección para producir sus propios productos.
