Catherine N. is 28 years old and lives in the town of Natete in the Kampala central region of Uganda. She is single and has three children. Two of her children are currently in school. Catherine has a beauty salon, which she has had for two years. She also has a second business: rental houses.
To help expand her business, Catherine has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase oil and braids for the hair for resale. With the help of the loan from BRAC, Catherine hopes to generate greater profits and pay school fees for her children. In the future, Catherine hopes to expand her business.
