Rosa Del Cielo Group
In this Group: Tomasa, Maria Eugenia, Francisca, Marina, Gloria, Maria Guadalupe, Maria Olivia
The Rosa del Cielo [Rose of Heaven] group, takes its name from that of their community, Rosa del Calvario [Rose of Calvary], which is located at the foot of a great hill covered with forests, where the people live very modestly. The representative of the Rosa del Cielo group is named Maria Guadalupe and works to raise and fatten lambs. She has been doing this for many years and tells us "For as long as I can remember, I always helped my parents with their animals. I took them to graze in the pasture, gave them water, and cared for them so nothing would happen to them."

In this community it's very common to raise animals, and there are few people who do anything else. Everybody goes to the main town to buy things.

She says "I think the loan is going to help me a lot because I'm going to have a business, and businesses bring money for the family. I want my business to make money so I can buy more animals." She hopes to diversify her business by buying different animals, and use the profits to feed my family and also continue investing in the business.

Maria Guadalupe married her husband nine years ago, and they have two daughters who study in primary school. They live in a rented house.

The group is made up of 7 people, all of whom raise lambs to buy and sell.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
