Esperanza is a member of the communal bank Musuq Rumi ("New Stone", in Quechua) which is in its 22nd loan cycle at FINCA Peru. She has been working with FINCA Peru for several years and was previously president of the communal bank and now acts as treasurer. She has three children, two of whom are still studying. She sells firewood from her home, which she purchases from producers. She will be using her loan of 500 PEN to purchase more firewood. She would like eventually to increase her sales and expand to sell other items such as groceries.
