This Kiva borrower is a 51-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and three young children who are still attending school. He has more than 30 years of experience working with home appliances. In 1984, he launched his own business where he began dealing in air conditioners. He purchases his products from a local electric center.
His work consists in selling both used and new AC units in addition to repairing damaged ones. His wife has been working as a teacher in a local school for 18 years to provide extra financial support for the family. Today, he is requesting to borrow $2000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to buy more products. He is planning to strengthen his commercial operation to end up with increased sales and higher income.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
