Oyunjargal, a 29-year-old widow, lives with her two daughters in a rented one-bedroom studio in Erdenet, the second biggest city in Mongolia. Her oldest daughter, Uranchimeg, attends a local secondary school, while her youngest daughter, Tselmeg, stays at home.

Oyunjargal used to be a teacher at “Urlakh Erdem” university, the famous Mongolian fashion design school from which she graduated. Then she started her own tailoring business in 2006, employing a friend who studied in university with her. Oyunjargal now rents a stall at ”Danista” market, the crowded city market. Her dream is to buy her own apartment and to give her children a proper education and good morals. This will be her first loan, with which she intends to purchase a sewing machine.
