Srey S. is 58 years old and has been living in Kompong Thom. She married Mr. Sour, age 61, many years ago and both of them earn their daily income by planting rice crops. This old couple has 5 single children, all of whom work at different occupations. With this loan, Srey S. will purchase a plot of farmland from a villager in order to grow various kinds of crops. This will enable the family to accrue extra profit to meet their daily expenses. In addition, she will use some of the loan to buy some zinc to cover the roof of her old house.

The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
