K. Paul is the leader of Najjembe Women’s Group 1 in Lugazi. He is 38 years old and married with five children of whom three are in school. Paul has had a business selling cold water at Najjembe market to travelers for a period of eight years and he is happy that he makes 160,000/= as weekly profits. He hires four people that do the selling to the various cars that stop over for the refreshment.

It is after Paul dropped out of school that he joined the business that has expanded over the years. He also sells "matooke" (plantains) some of which he grows himself and this boosts his income. He is very hard-working and reliable and he needs a loan to be able to buy more water for resale as well as buying seeds for planting during this rainy season.
