Elsa is a member of the communal bank "Union II" at FINCA Peru. She has two children: a 20-year old son studying engineering in Lima and a 14-year old daughter studying in Ayacucho. She has been a member of FINCA Peru for 15 years now, and started off with a business selling ice and cosmetics. Now she also rents rooms to students in Ayacucho, and rents the first floor to a commercial tenant. She is currently adding a fourth floor to her building to have an additional 8 rooms to rent. She has 14 rooms right now, which are all occupied. She will be using her current loan of 1,750 PEN to help her purchase an apartment in Lima, where her son can live and she can rent out the extra rooms.
