Kadzo is a married woman with six children, four boys and three girls. Five of her children attend school while one is still young for school. For the past two years, she has operated a palm leaves selling business for use in roofing houses, and she sells at the market and from home to her neighbours and passersby. Kadzo faces a major challenge of seasonality and the high cost of transporting palm leaves in her business.
With the Kshs 20,000 she is requesting, she wants to purchasepalm leaves and resell them at a profit. She decided to work with Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
