Samson M. is a married man and has four children between the ages of seventeen and three. He hopes to give them a good education to the university level. Samson's business is located in the busy Ngara area in Nairobi. He sells charcoal to the local people. He has been in this business for twelve years and has managed to employ one person. Samson says that this business is profitable and the major challenge he has is financial constraints. However, he works very hard to keep his business doing well.
Samson is using his loan of 70,000 to buy stocks of charcoal to grow his business and meet the demands of his customers. He hopes to grow his business and in the future diversify into the transport business, having bought himself a matatu. Samson describes himself as determined, devoted and caring.
