Afia S. has owned and rented out houses for the past ten years. She lives in her own house which has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for her family.
Afia decided to join Yehu to access their loans in order to boost her business. With a 20,000 KES loan she wants to purchase cement and sand to build more rentals. With increased income, Afia dreams of establishing yet more rental houses.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
