Mwanatumu is a married woman with six children, all of whom are grown ups. She owns a house that has piped water but not electricity. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past three years, Mwanatumu has operated a boda boda (motorcycle) business. Her potential customers are neighboring community members. Mwanatumu dreams of expanding and purchasing a car for a taxi business in the future.
With the loan for Kshs 80,000 that she is requesting, Mwanatumu wants to purchase a new motorcycle for her business. She decided to work with Yehu Microfinance to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
