This group is called "Cookies" and is located in the State of Mexico. It has 9 members including Dulce Maria D. D. who has two businesses. She sells tacos at weekends and, in the afternoons, she sells fries.

Dulce Maria has a 3 year-old daughter and she tells us that since she was very small she has had a lot of health problems. At her young age she has already had two operations on her heart and one on her intestines. This was what drove Dulce Maria to start her business since her husband's income didn't reach far enough to cover all the expenses. One of her greatest wishes is for her business to prosper because it is a support to her family. She will use the loan that she is granted to buy merchandise so that she can grow her business and know for certain that she will be able to face any problem.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
