The women of the Soro Yiriwa group, all married, are 49 years old and have 6 children on average, and all live in expanded traditional families in the Wakoro village, Dioïla prefecture, Koulikoro Region (second administrative region of the Republic of Mali). They know one another through parental, neighborhood and friendship ties. They sell clothing, spices, soaps and jewelry. They also do market gardening. The women of the Sinignessigui group are on their second group loan. Fanta F. plans to buy clothing of all varieties from the wholesalers of Bamako each month. She makes her daily sales from her home, as well as at the market on fair days, for cash and credit, to a customer base made up of men and women. She plans to make an average monthly profit of 60,000 FCFA which will be used to make loan payments and contributions to social ceremonies, while the rest will be reinvested in her trade.

Les femmes du groupe Soro Yiriwa, toutes mariées, ont en moyenne 49 ans, 6 enfants et vivent toutes dans des familles traditionnelles élargies dans le village de Wakoro, préfecture de Dioïla ; Région de Koulikoro (deuxième région administrative de la république du Mali).
Elles se sont connues à travers des liens de parenté, de voisinage et d’amitié. Elles font le commerce d’habillements, de condiments, de savon des bijoux. Elles font aussi le maraîchage.

FANTA F. compte acheter des habillements de tout genre avec les grossistes de Bamako mensuellement. Elle effectue ses ventes quotidiennement sur place à la maison et au marché pendant les jours de foire, au comptant et à crédit, à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice moyen mensuel de 60 000F CFA qui sera utilisé pour payer les échéances du prêt, payer les contributions des cérémonies sociales et le reste sera réinvesti dans son activité de commerce.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
