A loan of $1,100 helped to cover vehicle maintenance costs.

Santos Juan's story

Mr. Santos is a young, hard-working man who lives in the area of lower Pampahasi which is 25 minutes from downtown La Paz. He and his wife Angélica have two school-aged children. Santos has a public transportation service and uses a 9-passenger minivan. He owns the vehicle and is affiliated with the transportation union.

Because of his seniority in the union, Santos was appointed chief of the minivan group. He plans to use the loan to cover vehicle maintenance costs because he is beginning to notice some vehicle failure. Angélica sells clothing in the city of Cochabamba where she travels once a week (Fridays), returning home the next day to care for her children. They live with other family members and their biggest dream is to buy their own house.
