Forty-three year-old B. Francis is a food sales businessman who operates from Kanana-Ibanda. He mostly sells bananas, fresh beans, rice, pineapples, and cabbage.
He has been running this business for the last decade and he says hard work, determination and prayers have been his calling cards. Francis says to get established in this business he got startup operating capital from a land sales deal. Before that, he was doing mostly odd jobs in and around Ibanda and the neighboring districts. Francis is married with 2 kids and he says with this loan, he is going to purchase more high-value cash crops such as coffee, cassava, yams, and maize to resell.
