Baktygul Saitova's Group
In this Group: Baktygul , Burma, Batma
Baktygul S., 41, is the leader of this group. A resident of Nookat, a sunny, small town in Osh province in southern Kyrgyzstan, she has been employed for a rather long time in a regional military unit along with her husband, Nasirali. The couple has two children who are financially dependent on them. Being in the military for most of his life, Nasirali imposed upon his children a deep sense of devotion to and defense of the Motherland. It wasn’t surprising when their son decided to join the national army.

Baktygul is extremely proud of her children and hopes to provide the best conditions for their future education and employment. She is involved not only in her work in the military forces but also maintains the household well.

Baktygul keeps cattle and enjoys running a dairy. Six years ago she also started cultivating a small piece of land that they own and discovered the soil was very fertile. There always is a high demand for her fall harvest of vegetables and fruits, which helps Baktygul satisfy her family’s basic financial needs.

This spring Baktygul has grand plans to expand the variety of her crops, so she is in need of more funds than usual. She hopes Kiva will help her purchase mineral fertilizers. With her profits she plans on increasing her herd of cattle and purchasing a house.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
