The San Juan Communal Bank was formed on April 15th, 2010, thanks to Crescencia M.. She talked about the way to work together in a group and about loans. She managed to get 18 women together. You can find them working very happily in their 4th cycle. They work together in a cohesive and supportive way within the program. It is a group that stands out because of its cohesive and supportive work.

Crescencia sells drinks. She has this business in her house. From there she provides all of her customers with all of the drinks that are needed for different festivities. She provides drinks for birthdays, anniversaries, “asagojas” (celebrations for people for an important date like the Catholic First Communion), etc.

She wants to increase her stock of products in order to better meet the needs of her customers and neighbors. That is why she is requesting a Kiva loan. The loan is to be able to carry out her project.

About Fundación Paraguaya

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
