Mwanamisi is married with six children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
She has operated a water selling business for the past one year, selling from home to her neighbours. Mwanamisi faces a major challenge of stiff competition from neighbours who operate the same business. Mwanamisi dreams of establishing other businesses to increase her income in the future.
With the loan she is requesting she wants to install another water tap for water distribution. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
