Ninakan Z., 56 years old, is this group’s leader. During the 56 years, her life was successful and intensive. This woman’s life has many facets: she is a mother of five, a schoolteacher with many years of experience, and an experienced agricultural worker. All her children, aside from the youngest 24-year old son, have left the nest long time ago and now fly on their own. The youngest son together with his father, who works at the local tax collection agency of their town, take an active part in caring for the livestock. The Toktogul climate is auspicious for raising cattle. The family raises both beef and dairy cattle. The unique local climate allows the family to drive their cattle to different pastures according to the season: in the spring from the valley to the hills, and in the summer to the high mountain areas.

Ninakan believes that this business is profitable. She launched this work 15 years ago, when Ninakan’s parents first bought a cow for her. Since then this business bring stable income for her and her family. She reinvests her income in the business. She is requesting a loan in order to purchase a refrigerator, as she has not been able to set funds aside for this purchase for a long time.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
