Mairamkul is married and has three daughters. Her husband works in technical maintenance of the hydroelectric station “Kambar Ata.”
For 21 years this couple has raised various types of cattle. The foundation was laid 21 years ago when Mairamkul’s husband spent his salary of 15,000 KGS on purchasing six head of cattle.
Since then, for Mairamkul, cattle breeding has been the major activity, just like for anyone else in the neighborhood. At this moment, their monthly profit equals 5,000 KGS, most of which is spent on covering transportation and food costs.
The purpose of Mairamkul’s loan is to buy more cattle for further breeding and reselling. Her future dreams are purchasing an automobile and land and boosting the number of cattle.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
