Humphrey M. Z. is 53 years old and married. They have three children, aged between 19 years old and 4 years old, whom they hope to give good education to the university level. His business is located at Majengo estate in Mombasa, Kenya. Mombasa is the coastal region of Kenya and is well known for its many, many tourist attraction sites – not forgetting the Indian Ocean white beaches.
Humphrey has been selling fish to the local people for the last 17 years and has managed to give employment to two people. He says that this business is profitable and his major challenges are financial constraints and the perishable nature of his products. However, he works hard from early morning to late evening to keep his business doing well. He is using his loan of 80,000 Kenyan shillings to increase his stock of fish to meet the high demand of customers. He hopes to be a wholesaler in the future. He also sees himself becoming a landlord some day. He describes himself as customer-friendly and a person who loves his work.
