Mwanajuma lives with her husband in Kisauni. They have five children and live at a rental house. Her business is a retail shop, which she has had for years. She sells basic needs items.
With the Kshs 30,000 loan she is requesting, she will buy more inventory like kitchen utensils like plates, bowls, jugs, mugs and also repair her sales kiosk. Mwanajuma faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. She dreams of establishing a cafe in the future to stabilize her financial condition. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to raise her standard of living.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
