Ana lives with her husband in the village of Sartichala, Kartli Region. She is 56 years old. She works in local polyclinics as a family doctor. At the same time, Ana is actively involved in agricultural activities. Ana’s husband is a pensioner. Ana has adult children, who are already of full age and live separately. Ana and her husband have a greenhouse where they grow tomatoes. At the same time they have 3 milch cows and sales of dairy products (traditional homemade Georgian cheese) are another source of income for their family.

Ana and her husband built their greenhouse 2 years ago. It has an area of appx. 200 sq. meters. Tomatoes harvested in the greenhouse are sold locally in the village among the villagers. The main part of the requested loan will be used for renovation of the greenhouse – old cellophane needs to be exchanged for new one. With the new cellophane, the temperature in the greenhouse will become stable and this will increase the quality and the quantity of the tomatoes grown.

A small part of the loan will be used for start-up costs for another micro-business – trade with combined food for domestic animals.

With the additional income received as a result of the loan, Ana plans to assist her children. Also another part of the profit will be used for extension of the newly started trading business.
