The nonprofit “12 Estrellas” (12 Stars) will begin their third cycle with Pro Mujer (For Women) as part of Germán Busch’s focal group. It is made up of 11 members and the communal association is directed by a board that is headed by Eliza, the president. The businesses that the members of the communal association work in are varied. Among them we have: sewing, selling potatoes, macramé, selling beds, selling chicharrón (fried pork cracklings), selling vegetables, making clothing, and making aprons.

Eliza, the president of the communal association, says that she has been a part of the nonprofit “12 Estrellas” for three cycles but has worked with Pro Mujer for close to 11 years. Eliza has a clothing making business and her loan will be put towards buying the goods she uses (fabrics). This merchandise will be bought in the local fair on July 16th. She will sell her clothing in all of the fairs for the city of El Alto. Eliza is married and has two children. As her business requires her to take clothing to the different fairs day after day, her husband helps her.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responded that she likes the advice.

In the photograph you can see 12 people as Susi, the daughter of Juana, was present. At the back a member is laughing and you cannot see her very well; she is Lucia.
