Bebialen V. is from the city of Carmen Annex Ozamiz City. She is 22 years old. Bebialen is single and has one infant child. To make a living, Bebialen owns and operates a business venture that makes and sells barbecue in the market. Bebialen has been engaged in her business for over a year and earns approximately 7,000 PHP a month for these activities.
In 2011, Bebialen joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her business and living situation. Bebialen has successfully repaid a previous loan from GDMPC. Bebialen is requesting a new loan of 15,000 PHP which will be used to purchased meat, sticks, electric fan, spices and utensils to be used for expanding the business. This loan will be the second loan taken out by Bebialen from GDMPC. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand her business.
GDMPC is one of the most progressive cooperatives in Mindanao, Philippines. It has seven branches covering the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental. Its membership is composed mostly of farmers, fisherfolk and small entrepreneurs.
