A loan of $375 helped to purchase ingredients for bakery products.

Guillermina's story

Guillerma is 44 years old and lives in her own home with her husband, Julio who is 50, and their three children. They are only financially responsible for the youngest two since their eldest works and is independent. For three years now this hard-working woman has been in the bakery business and sells all kinds of desserts and cakes to the neighboring stores where she makes delivery three times a week.

She began the business with other women in her neighborhood and it has become very profitable. They continue to help each other but sell their products individually. Guillerma is happy about the fact that she has been able to buy her own molds over time thanks to her high earnings. She enjoys her work and has been able to grow her business, increase her customer base and make more income. She also sells hors d'oeuvres for special events in the area, especially on weekends, and this provides additional income.

In the future she would like to set up a company, with her friends and under their own brand, that would supply to large chain stores. This is her 16th loan through MFP and she is committed to paying it back on time since she would not want to disappoint the lenders who are helping her get ahead. Guillerma plans to use the loan to buy ingredients so she can continue with her business, and to help with the cost of a large hors d'oeuvres order she has for an upcoming event.
