Pacifica
View original language description ↓
Pacifica is a member of “Banco Comunal Lideres Triunfadoras”. She lives at Jr. Cesar Vallejo 368, Calleria District, Province of Ucayali. She’s 58 years old and has 5 independent children – none of whom forget the great sacrifice she made for them -- and are always by her side. Her husband sells fish, but the salary isn’t enough to cover the basic living costs. That’s why when Pacifica received her first loan of 300 soles ($100US) from Manuela Ramos, she invested it in the sale of regional dishes.

She installed her regional food sales business in her house. But, she’s also thinking about investing, with her husband, in the buying and selling of fish. She wakes up early in the morning, makes breakfast and then heads for the market to buy the ingredients she needs for her dishes. In the evenings she works her business; she is nice and cordial with her customers.

With the loan she currently received from Manuela Ramos of 3,000 soles ($1,004US approx.), which will be paid back in 6 months, she’ll buy a table to fit all of the ingredients and a charcoal barbecue, 5 kilos of dried meat, 6 chickens, 3 kilos of chorizo sausage, 5 kilos of rice, 2 kilos of sugar, 10 kilos of pork, and vegetables to prepare the food she sells.

Pacifica is very happy and satisfied with everything she’s been able to accomplish so far, thanks to the support of Manuela Ramos. She told us that a woman should always be strong and above everything else, love herself.
