She has a six year-old daughter who has yet not started attending school.
Zaib is very supportive person. She shares the financial burden with her husband by doing a private job. Her husband, whose name is W. I., also does a private job.
They both are very hardworking persons. After the day job, she carries out her responsibilities as a housewife very well and takes care of her family.
Her uncle, who also lives with Zaib and her family, operates a grocery shop in the nearby market. Through his shop he sells daily use items such as cooking oil, salt, sugar etc to customers.
He is short of stock these days and therefore Zaib has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah to financially support her uncle in improving his business condition. With the loan, he will buy groceries in bulk to add variety to his shop and to fulfill customer needs on timely basis. Zaib is hopeful that a loan investment will help him increase his profits by putting more stock in his shop.
This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
