Houn
Mrs. Houn D. (shown in the photo with her daughter) and her husband, Mr. Bunthoeun Moeun, have been married since 1986. They have three children, two sons and one daughter. Houn’s two sons are studying in the local school, and her daughter has been weaving silk (see photo) at home since 2005. Their family lives along the Mekong River about twenty-five kilometers from Phnom Penh. Houn and her husband have been farming since 1986. They have been planting jicamas, yams, and sweet potatoes at a farm not far from their house.

Houn is requesting her second loan from MAXIMA in the amount of $300. She will use this loan to purchase silk materials and sewing thread, and to pay fees for selecting and preparing silk on the loom for her daughter’s weaving.
