Mrs. Sarom O. is 31 years old and her husband, Mr. Veun Moeung, is 30 years old. They live in a village about 25 kilometers from Phnom Penh. They have been married since 2002 and have two young daughters.
Mrs. Sarom O. is a lotus farmer and she transports her lotus to sell at the market. Her husband is a fisherman and he drives a horse cart as well. Sarom is requesting a loan of $1,000 to purchase a motorbike to carry her lotus to market.

Sustainable access to credit helps to create jobs and enables business owners improve their living conditions, educate their children, provide health care to their families, and more. It also enables the rural poor to remain at home with their families, rather than moving to city centers in search of employment.
