Thouch S. L. is a 36-year-old married woman who lives in the province of Kompong Cham. Her husband shares the responsibility of supporting the family by working as a building worker.
Thouch S. L. has been in the farming business since 1995. She owns a plot of farmland that she inherited from her parents. She is going to use her loan to add to her current savings to buy a plot of farmland that is in a good location for farming.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
