Santa Rosa Group
In this Group: Manuela Cristina, Acela, Ismael , Rafaela, Teresa , Maria Martina, Benito , Miguel
The following group, called "Santa Rosa", is located in the Ejido community of Chichilpa which belongs to the San Felipe del Progreso municipality in Mexico. The community, one of the smallest in San Felilpe del Progreso, is very small and has few inhabitants. The people are very kind and all know each other and get along very well. There is no sewer system in the community so each house has to dig its own septic tank. There are one or two grocery stores but most people raise livestock or are crop farmers.

The "Santa Rosa" group has eight members, five of which are men and three are women. They are all livestock farmers and are requesting a loan for the same purpose. They decided to call themselves "Santa Rosa" because that's the name of the patron saint of their church in Ejido D. Chichilpa.

Doña Manuela is the representative of the group. She is 51 years old and has been living in the same house for 34 years. She has six children, five of which are married. The other single son works and makes his own income so it's just her and her husband who live together. Doña Manuela raises sheep and cattle which she sells for an income. She also has a place where she sells cakes and softdrinks. She claims sales are down and so needs to supplement her cake sales with the income from her livestock activity. She runs into difficulties such as fodder supply for the animals because of the current drought situation, and being able to keep the animals in a clean place so they don't get sick. Her family depends on her business running well. Her goal is for her cows to produce calves so she can grow her business. With her earnings she wants to mill grass and save it for fodder for times of drought. She also wants to make some home improvements in her bathroom and dig a septic tank, so she can improve her family's quality of life.
