Kimeu M. is a very creative, hardworking and gentle man who owns a retail shop in Maiuni, Kangundo. He has been in this business for six years and earns a monthly profit of KES 26,000. He is 45 years old and married to Nzisa, a businesswoman.
Kimeu has never borrowed from any other MFI, and he is applying for his third loan after having successfully repaid the previous ones well and in good time. Kimeu plans to use the entire loan amount to add more stock, such as cooking fat, bread, and maize and wheat flour, to his shop. He intends to reinvest the additional income from the proceeds of this loan in the business as he desires to be financially stable in the future.
