Uhuru Dakawa Group's story

This group composed of four members has existed since 2020. The members live in the same village and share good relationships. They have main businesses in paddy farming.

Majuto, the group representative, on the left in the photo, is 51 years old and a father of two children who are both married. For years, Majuto has been committed to farming for subsistence until he changed his mindset to commercial farming. That's when he also decided to invest his time into ensuring the quality of produce matches the market's needs.

This is the reason why Majuto requested a Kiva loan in the past, to help improve the quality of production on his two-acre plot, and he managed to repay his loan on time. With this loan, he will be able to acquire certified fertilizers and be able to control fungus through pesticides.

The profits will serve to improve his quality of life and allow him to become more economically stable, while reinvesting the other cash into the coming paddy season.

In this group: Majuto, Masenga, John, Ayubu
