Katia's story

Forty-six-year-old Katia, is a strong, confident mother of five children, three of whom are still in school. She is married and lives with her husband and children on an offshore island south of Efate, which is roughly a 5-minute boat-ride to town. She currently earns money by baking and selling doughnuts.

She started her business 15 years ago, with the aim to assist her husband in providing financial support for her family. Her dream is to launch a sewing business one day. She is currently planning to enhance her doughnut supply to match customer demand. However, she is experiencing financial constraints.

Katia is requesting a loan to pay for flour bags. The income from the business will be used to pay for household needs, children's school tuition, and future savings. With this money, she is able to expand her business and ensure a bright future for her children.
