Violet N. is thirty two years old, married and has two children aged thirteen years old and eight years old. She hopes to provide her children with education through the university level. She owns a hardware store named Ghemt Hardware and Electronics. She sells such items as paints, cement, plumbing fittings and electricals. Her business is located at Githunguri and she is served by the Kitengela branch. She has been in this business for the last two years now and has managed to hire one employee. She says that this business is profitable and that the major challenge she has is poor roads which delay delivery of the items she sells. However, she works very hard to keep her business doing well. She is using her loan of Kes 50,000 to buy a donkey and cart to help her deliver items to customers. She hopes to be a wholesaler, open branches in other parts of Kenya and in the future, go outside Kenya. She describes herself as a believer and she knows that with God, everything is possible.
