Tomasa
Tomasa is 48 years old. She is a hardworking woman who lives with her 18-year old son Jhon. She is a single mother who lives with her son in a house that is her own. It is located in Puente Paucartambo (the central Peruvian jungle). This hardworking woman's business is the sale of prepared foods from a large restaurant located at the entrance of the bridge. Every morning during the week she prepares Creole foods. But during the month of April, during the coffee harvest, she prepares traditional foods for the laborers who work in the region. She manages to earn an average of 100 nuevos soles. This is how she will soon be able to move to the new restaurant she is having built. It is larger and it is improved in the construction. She belongs to the communal bank named "Comerciantes". This is her first loan with MFP (Kiva Field Partner) and she is certain she will achieve her goals. Tomasa will invest the loan she requests in the purchase of sacks of rice, sugar, and other ingredients she needs to prepare foods daily.

Tomasa, de 48 años, es una mujer trabajadora que vive junto a su hijo Jhon, de 18 años. Como madre soltera ella vive junto a su hijo, en su casa propia, ubicada en Puente Paucartambo (selva central peruana). El Trabajo al que se dedica está laboriosa mujer es la venta de comida en un amplio restaurante que tiene a la entrada de puente. Todas las mañanas durante la semana, prepara comida criolla; pero según menciona en el mes de abril, en plena campaña de cosecha de café; prepara comida típica para todos los peones que trabajan en la zona, llegando adquirir una ganancia neta de 100 nuevos soles promedio. Es por eso que dentro de muy poco se trasladará al nuevo restaurante que está construyendo, que es más amplio y con mejores acabados. Ella pertenece al banco comunal “comerciantes”, y este es el primer crédito con MFP, donde está segura que logrará sus objetivos. Tomasa, invertirá el crédito solicitado en la compra de sacos de arroz, azúcar e insumos necesarios para la venta diaria de comida.
