Gelem H. is 47 years old. She is divorced, without children. Gelem is an Internally Displaced person from the Kalbadjar Region, now living in the Absheron Region together with her mother and sister. Gelem used to work as a school teacher, but later she opened her own office. For a year she has been giving private physics tutorials to children. This is her second loan; the first time she took out $1200. She is very grateful to all lenders and to Kiva. At present Gelem needs 2000 AZN in order to buy books and tests, which are expensive, and children cannot afford them. Gelem loves her work. She works very hard to support her family as her aging mother is ailing.
