Veang T., 32, is married to Hung, 35. She and has given birth to four children, all of whom are still young.
Veang T. is a skilled manicurist and she has run a service of door to door nail decoration in the neighborhood since 2005. She earns a good profit.
Her husband has been selling meatballs and other snack food for over five years. He runs his business by using a motorbike connected with a cart. Unluckily, his existing motorbike breaks so often that he spends a lot of money repairing it. To deal with this problem, Veang T. would like to request a loan for her husband to purchase a motorcycle to replace the broken one.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
